Sustainable Tourism Development Center” was established under the initiation of some foreign and domestic young people who are professionals in tourism with respect to the 800th year anniversary of the Great Mongolian State in 2006.

Our Mission is directed to add our contribution for designing, monitoring, evaluating, and improving sustainable tourism practices and principles in Mongolia. This can be done by our involvement and cooperation into the process of planning and by taking part in the environment friendly usage of prime tourism resources such as beautiful nature, rich history, cultural heritage, nomadic lifestyle, and traditional customs of Mongolia.

Main activities:

Collaboration and networking

· To collaborate with international and national nongovernmental and governmental organizations for researching, training, providing information in order to develop sustainable tourism.

· To collaborate with local government in the framework of developing local destination management plan and policy;

· To cooperate with the related organizations to develop and to improve the  tourism education quality, standard, syllabus and curriculum;

· To organize trainings and to build capacities of local administrative, tourism officers and professionals, business entities;

· To work closely with government, NGO’s, travel trade and independent people working and implementing tourism projects, sustainability and environmental protection;

National and international projects, programs

To implement projects and programs which were answered the purpose of developing sustainable tourism.

Training

To organize tourism basics, developing tourism, tourism service, and product quality training for tourism specialists, tourism service staff, tourism sector’s businessmen and tourism institutions.

Consulting

STDC gives professional advices to international and national tourism organizations, institutions, local communities, who are interested in tourism business.

Magazine

Since 2007 we publish “Sustainable Tourism Development” magazine, currently edition number 9.

Student’s club

Supporting to cooperation with NGO’s ‘Youth can make changes’ students club for improving their skills, giving opportunities to learn in practices.
